Pick your number one artist and then note their number one similar artist and see where you end up after 20 or so...if there's any repeats just go with the second similar artist.

Yeah...as you can see the demographics of the Last.fm audience are clearly on the young side. If Last.fm artists were not tagged by users I would have expected to see some of the Pumpkins influences appear in this list as opposed to the plethera of nuvo-indie bands we see here. I don't even know the last 4 bands (but you better believe I'm gonna be checking them out as soon as I hit the "post" button;)

So all-in-all this was a fun experiment and not a bad way to find new music! Try it for yourself a let me know what your results were.
